Community of Knowledge launches redesigned website
The new website of the Community of Knowledge is now available based on TYPO3 and supported by Pumacy Technologies AG
The Community of Knowledge (http://www.c-o-k.de), a leading knowledge management community portal in Germany, has launched the beta release of its redesigned website. The beta release is based on the open source content management system TYPO3.
“‘Theoretical and practical aspects of knowledge management’ will be our motto. The new website has a fresh and modern look, lines that make up concise structures, a logic choice of colours and a revised community logo,” explains Steffen Doberstein, chief editor of the Community of Knowledge. “Behind this façade there is a high-performance platform based on TYPO3 that meets all of our requirements for editing and administration of articles and available functions.”
All data of the previous version of the website have been integrated in the new release. All published articles as well as author profiles of the previous version are still available on the website free of charge. A variety of different categories, a search and a tag cloud enable users to intuitively access the website’s content.
The next milestone of the re-launch project will be completed by the end of December 2009. The upcoming months will be spent on continuously developing and implementing new features. However, the main focus will be on the publication of high-quality articles. Additionally, the project team intends to implement advanced features that support the community and enable authors and users to manage their profiles.
As announced at the beginning of the re-launch project, the C-o-K blog (http://blog.community-of-knowledge.de) provides information on new developments of the website. In order to increase the active participation of users, the website provides a feedback form to allow authors and users to give generals feedback about the site. Additionally, feedback can be given via email to info@community-of-knowledge.de
The re-launch project of the C-o-K will be completed before the end of December 2009. The project team is made up of the previous C-o-K editorial staff and research assistants form Pumacy. Pumacy is main sponsor. C-o-K is operated by a non-profit organisation which strengthens the community’s impartiality.
